Riccallish Allsorts

First things first – the Riccallish Allsorts chose their iconic name when they formed in the year 1999, by holding a competition for new members. The group was formed to perform plays and pantomimes inn what was then the newly built Regen Centre.
Our first rehearsal for the pantomime Snow White was on the night of the great flood, which threatened to engulf the centre shortly after it had been opened!
We are an open society and always welcome new members, either to act, or help with stage crafts, such as set-building, costume, light, sound, and stage management.
Many people tell us they’ve never done anything like this before – and they’d like to have a go – and we do our best to give tasks that people feel comfortable with. A few members have started with small roles and have gradually developed as their confidence and abilities have grown.

Riccallish Allsorts has been very fortunate in securing grants from the Lottery and the Arts Council which has enabled us to buy staging and a preformed scaffolding rig – it looks heavy but is in fact extremely light and solid, which enable us to build our stage for each production that we do.
